GROUP A LIVE
Japanese avant-garde synth wave duo. Group A was formed in 2012 by Tommi Tokyo (synthesizers, vocals, percussion) and Sayaka Botanic (violin, cassette tapes). Their early shows came as a shock to most spectators, non-stop waves of experimental noise, intensely emotional poetry readings and nude live-paintings.
While their mixture of synth heavy minimal wave, avant noise, striking visuals and performance art still carries the very breath of early industrial pioneers such as Throbbing Gristle or Cabaret Voltaire, the duo has since evolved into a beast of its own.
Švenčionis works as the editor of Secret Thirteen, but he is no worse behind the decks. He likes playing in a gritty and groovy way and never forgets a punkish attitude and well-informed music-digging habits. Švenčionis usually gives preference to harsher and more intense sounds of industrialised electro or noisier fringes of post punk, but can also detour into weirder pop terrains or even psychotic disco.
Aerobica is thrown by the square lifebuoy used to propel a reliable music into digital age. He delves into music, which at first glance may seem not sensuous, and uses it as a tool for communication.
Aerobica prefers rhythmic experiments and a passion which is found in an inexhaustible music underground.
Vytenis V V. Eclectic mustafa that grips with dark wave electronics and cracked DIY sounds. His concealed variations is a signature sign, that rather poises towards higher excitement in order to reach night's equilibrium.
